Supreme Council elaborates

on Culture of Life Fund assessment

Supreme Secretary Donald R. Kehoe has spelled out the method in which $3.00 assessments will be implemented for the Culture of Life Fund, which was approved unanimously by delegates to the 2008 Supreme Convention in Quebec, Canada.

In a letter to all members, Kehoe states that the assessment is based on the Oct. 1, 2008, membership of each council in the Order. This assessment can be paid in full by Jan. 31, 2009, or in installments due by Jan. 31, 2009, and July 31, 2009. The assessment is determined as follows:

· Total membership of the council.

· Minus Honorary members.

· Minus Honorary Life members.

· Minus Disability members.

· Minus Inactive Insurance members.

Kehoe said the resolution also encourages members, councils, assemblies and state councils throughout the Order “to affirm their commitment to marriage, family and the gift of life through additional voluntary contributions to the Culture of Life Fund”.

He further stated that “Councils are encouraged to conduct activities which can contribute to support the Culture of Life Fund. These additional donations should be made through a separate check made payable to the Knights of Columbus and in the memo section list `Culture of Life Fund’. The checks should be sent to Knights of Columbus, One Columbus Plaza, New Haven, CT 06510-3326 – Attention: Culture of Life Fund.”
